Chicago Loop:

The heart of downtown Chicago where all the hustle and bustle takes place is known as the Chicago Loop. Home of the financial district and some of the tallest towers in the city, the Loop has the most connected train stations and office buildings. Aside from office buildings, it has many residential towers. It is located just south-east of the Chicago river and east of the popular Millennium park.

Streeterville has many tourist spots being located to the right off the Magnificent Mile with all the shops and restaurants on Michigan Avenue. It is west of Lake Michigan and north of the Chicago River, making it easy to obtain water views. This neighborhood has many luxury high-rises consisting of medical centers, hotels, condos, and rentals. Navy Pier, a 3,300-foot long pier in Streeterville, is famous for its Ferris wheel, restaurants, and boat tours. It is the top leisure destination in the Midwest.

River North

Located just north of the river, hence the name, River North is known for its large concentration of art galleries. The development of this neighborhood has skyrocketed due to the new high rise buildings, nightclubs, and award-winning restaurants. River North is a short walk north from the Loop. Other neighborhoods such as Gold Coast, West Loop, and Streeterville are all within walking distance making this neighborhood very accessible.

New East Side

Known for its peaceful residential haven-like community, New East Side is luxurious residential area with few businesses located just north of Millennium park, west of Lake Michigan, and south of the Chicago River. This neighborhood is a quick walk to the Loop, making it a short commute. The development has risen as residential towers are coming up fast, along with new development plans. This quiet area is a great choice for families or business professionals who want to be close to work.

Gold Coast

Almost every street in the charming Gold Coast neighborhood has upscale shops. The most expensive brands lie the streets of this fancy neighborhood, along with expensive car dealerships. The prestigious Latin School is one of the best schools in Chicago, making the Gold Coast a popular family neighborhood. Closeness to the lake, Old Town, and Loop makes this neighborhood all around ideal. Gold Coast has some of the best character in its buildings.

The South Loop, just south of the Loop, is home to many cultural centers such as the Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, and Shedd Aquarium. It’s just off the famous Grant Park which boasts 319 acres of green space. South Loop has great shopping and dining options, and is one of the more affordable neighborhoods downtown, but newer buildings come with a heftier price.
