We all love a good late summer cocktail! What better way to pair your alcohol than with a fresh LaCroix sparkling water. The seltzer craze is in full swing as these zero-sugar beverages are the perfect match to any liquor choice. We decided to do the “terrible” task of taste testing each combination and broke down our favorites with you. Now it is a work day, so we didn’t try EVERY combination, but here are some that made the cut.
A standard are the Lemon and Lime flavors as they work well will pretty much any flavor of booze, so just assume they are included in each category.
This spirit derives its predominant flavor from juniper berries. We found that this alcohol choice definitely pairs best with the Melon Pomelo a cantaloupe infused pink grapefruit flavor or the blackberry and cucumber infused Mure Pepino. Obviously some staples are Pamplemousse (grapefruit) and the sweet Apricot.
This typically takes on the flavor of whatever it is mixed with, so you just need to pick your favorite and add a shot (or two). However, we found the Cocunut, Berry, and Cran-Raspberry and the Peach Pear as well as the Passionfruit are our top faves.
Rum is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from sugarcane byproducts, such as molasses, or directly from sugarcane juice. Now we found the best option around if you are into the dark rums, LaCola (the cola) is a staple. As far as white rum, the Passionfruit, Cran-Raspberry and Mango are good options, and I am a sucker for the Coconut flavor so I found this to be a good choice as well.
Tequila is a regionally specific distilled beverage made from the blue agave plant. For this, obviously many will gravitate towards the Lemon and Lime options, but we actually found that Mango and Passionfruit were great candidates to tackle this liquor.
Now I am not much of a whiskey fan, but I have been told from a little birdy that the Tangerine, Peach Pear, and Cerise Limon (cherry lime) all pair very nicely. If you are into that kind of thing!
It has a dark-brown color with a reddish tint, and tastes subtly of spice and citrus fruit. A great option for this liqueur would be Mure Pepino, the sweet and sour blackberry and cucumber infused sparkling water. It tastes just like a Pimm’s cup but without the process of actually slicing the fruits to enjoy.
This alcoholic liqueur is obtained from the infusion of herbs and fruit in alcohol and water. We found that our favorites with this tasty option is Orange and Pamplemousse. It is not only bubbly but easy and tasty for those summer-day drinking cocktails.
Pair brandy with Peach Pear and call it a day.
Hopefully this list will help with your End of Summer Bash as a low-cal (because this is important even if bikini season is ending) delicious alcoholic beverage. Please tell us some of your favorites if you decide to try any of our concoctions!
