River North: Best Parts About the Neighborhood
River North has the largest collection of art galleries in the U.S. after Manhattan. There is also a design district with blocks of luxury interior finishes that is located just north of the Merchandise Mart. The Merchandise Mart is an enormous commercial building that takes up two city blocks. It recently launched "Art on the Mart" where a high-resolution art projection show takes places directly on the building.
Home of many restaurants, bars, and clubs, River North offers some of the best dining experiences in Chicago. Hubbard Street is a popular area for going out. Eataly, an Italian grocery store, dining experience, and wine store, covers 63,000 square feet of retail space, making it the largest Eataly in the U.S. after L.A.
The accessibility to and from River North is unreal. Walking distance to The Loop, Streeterville, Gold Coast, and West Loop make it a super convenient location. There are many train stops here as well.
River North has some of the tallest buildings in Chicago. The Trump International Hotel and Tower is the second-largest in Chicago. All the high rises that have been built have increased the population dramatically. Most buildings are modern, with more being built as we speak. The Contemporaine, a 15-story building featuring 28 units, was awarded for outstanding architecture by the National American Institute of Architects.
