Despite being visible from much of downtown Chicago, Trump Tower perfectly complements its surroundings, and its considerate yet iconic design makes 401 North Wabash a contemporary Sears Tower. A sleek, curved skyscraper with an exterior made out of pale blue glass and stainless steel, it beautifully reflects the Chicago river skyline. Its setbacks, heralding back to the art deco style of skyscrapers, correspond in height to surrounding buildings. This allows the Trump Tower to reach its great height without visually dwarfing its neighbors. To passersby, the Trump Tower sitting right on the Chicago river’s edge gives the impression of a majestic ship.

Built on the former site of the Chicago Sun-Times building, 401 North Wabash is nestled on the border between the River North, Near North Side, and Loop neighborhoods. The original freight railroad tracks that used to deliver newspapers to the old Chicago Sun-Times were preserved, in case they were to be incorporated into transit system. Adjacent to the Wrigley Building, Michigan Avenue Bridge, and the House of Blues, the Trump Tower’s location in the River North Gallery District allows residents to glean the best cultural offerings from the city of Chicago. Residents can enjoy a riverfront stroll along the Trump Plaza next to the Trump Tower, cross the river to the Loop, or walk a block to the Magnificent Mile shopping district. From inside, residents can repose while taking in unparalleled views of Lake Michigan downriver and characteristic Chicago architecture, like the Sears Tower and Two Prudential Plaza.

Home to some of Chicago’s wealthiest, Trump Tower Chicago offers some of the priciest homes and thus achieves paramount comfort and security for its residents. Units are light, airy, and spacious, from 700-square foot studios to 5-bedroom penthouses that occupy upwards of 10,000 square feet. Residents can delight in luxurious finishes of Italian marble and French limestone, top-of-the-line modern conveniences, and world-class amenities. In addition to 24-hour room service and a private dog run, residents are welcome for a jaunt in all of the decadent hotel services. There are 339 guest rooms within the building that make up the Trump International Hotel, one of only seven hotels in Chicago boasting of a five-star rating. On the sixteenth floor, the hotel restaurant Sixteen is one of five in Chicago rated with 2 Michelin stars. The outdoor part of the restaurant, The Terrace, is the paragon of al fresco dining by offering a beautiful view of the city and Navy Pier fireworks. Furthermore, residents can relax at the Rebar bar or The Spa at Trump for massages, skin treatments, and saunas.

The 3rd through 12th floors of the Trump Tower consist of lobbies, retail space, and the parking garage. The health club and spa are on the 14th and mezzanine floors, and the hotel condominiums and executive lounges occupy floors 17 through 27. Residents live in condos from the 28th floor up to the 85th floor. Finally, the coveted penthouses are on floors 86 through 89. The Trump Tower Chicago was designed by Adrian Smith, who also designed Millennium Park and the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, and is the third major skyscraper to be designed by the architectural  firm Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill.
